Over the last few days, I've made less progress than I had hoped, although I think I successfully did what I set to do.  1st I created the leaderboard that would display the kills of each player. The first step to this was using the leaderboard code from the adventure game creation tutorial.  This tutorial showed me the basics of making a tutorial but there was no way to detect kills. to solve this conundrum, I checked ROBLOX forums and found a code that could detect when a player was killed and made it a value, I could add to the leaderboard. Because of the descriptions the creator added I was able to understand what each aspect of the code did and how I should use that to connect it with my leaderboard. After some continued work and tweaking I made a leaderboard that tracked the kills of each player when they were killed by the sword. The only issue with this is players have two more weapons at their disposal, cars, and guns. The coding for this will be harder because each g...

I decided now that I'm revamping this project I should pivot now that I know more about scripting because I can make a game that I would actually play. I've chosen to make a shooter game with similar mechanics to the battle royale project. Although instead of crafting a map I found one premade that I liked. I transferred over my old code and my lobby and have now began looking for a gun to replace the sword but having no luck. Most either don't work or are hard to aim and have to many controls. I added this weapon because its scripts functioned well with mine and at the end of every match they were deleted from inventory like the sword. Although unlike the sword you have to pick up the weapon around the map. I added a couple guns ad now the gameplay is akin to a game like fortnite or call of duty warzone, next Id like to add a leaderboard and increase the time limit. Following those additions I added a simple car that was open so you could still get shot while driving.

Day 9, Oct 27

Continued with tutorial to timestamp 34:00, focused on other things though. I experimented with functions and looping to create millions of blocks that fall from the sky and get deleted after a period of time. I also started to implement the different properties in the if statements so that when things would fall their properties could change.

Day 8, Oct 26

Today i made a decent amount of progress and learned tools in scripting that i can apply to actually making a game. For example, i created a red block that kills you when you touch it and a green brick that extends 1 stud every second, which could be used for some kind of draw bridge. I did this by following the same tutorial as last few times, i made it to timestamp 29:14.

Day 7, Oct 25

Image
Today I continued the tutorial and learned how functions and if statements can be used in the ROBLOX game editor. I made it to timestamp 19:58 of the tutorial. I found it to be similar to what we learned in Khan academy but with many differnt specific differences such as naming of things and where capitals go.

Day 6, Oct 24

Image
Today i moved on from the racing/cops and robbers' game to attempt some of the scripting. I got stuck though as the tutorial i watched glossed over something that i had to determine. I made it to timestamp 7:39

Day 5, Oct 19

Today was inefficient, I got stuck trying to transfer pathfinding ai's into vehicles so they would chase properly. I watched a tutorial that did not give any information. I did eventually succeed but only by using a premade chase vehicle and moving the script to the player.
